July is festival month for The Trapps!  We are pleased to announce that we have 3 great festivals where the band will be showcasing this month. Along with this, the band will debut in Peekskill & Sean & Jason will perform alongside the amazing Todd Rundgren!

Saturday, July 10th - 12:45PM set on the Village Stage - The Plesantville Music Festival. The Trapps are part of this awesome event with Rusted Root, Jakob Dylan & a host of other terrific artists including our good friends The Erin Hobson Compact!

Sunday, July 25th - 2:00PM set on the Firehouse Stage - The Rosendale Street Festival. The Trapps return for this awesome 2 day event of music in Rosendale.

Saturday, July 31st - 7:45PM set on the Green Vibes Stage. Gathering of The Vibes Festival. The Trapps have the headlining set on this side stage amidst artists like Bob Weir & Phil Lesh, Umphrey's McGee, Martin Sexton & Primus.

TODD RUNDGREN SHOW - Sean & Jason will perform as an acoustic duo opening for the legendary one. Tuesday, July 13th at the Bearsville Theater. 8:00PM set.

PEEKSKILL - The Trapps debut here Friday, July 16th at 7:30PM at the Beanrunner Cafe. An intimate venue located in the heart of Peekskill & the show was recently highlighted in the NY TIMES listings!

The Trapps return to NYC this Saturday, June 26th at 9:00PM at the Rockwood Music Hall. We had such an amazing time a few months back, so we decided to do it again & it's FREE!

COLD SPRING:  The band will make its long awaited return to Cold Spring this Sat at Whistling Willie's on Main Street. We encourage early arrival here as it gets jammed to the rafters. The band will be previewing some new material from their upcoming 3rd album. Show starts at 8:30PM.

AN EVENING OF CREATIVE VOICES:  Sean will be hosting a songwriting workshop for students that will be capped off with an intimate evening performance led by Sean, including Highland & New Paltz High School students, performing "An Evening of Creative Voices". Talented students will perform songs and poetry - many in front of a live audience for the very first time! The event is Wed, May 26th from 6-8PM at the Mudd Puddle Cafe in downtown New Paltz at the Water St Market. It is open to the public.

THE TRAPPS SET TO PERFORM AT GATHERING OF THE VIBES 2010
The Trapps will perform at this year's GATHERING OF THE VIBES music festival. The Trapps will perform on Saturday, July 31st on the "Green Vibes Stage" at 7:45pm. GOTV is an amazing music festival with an incredible line-up including Primus, Jimmy Cliff, Martin Sexton, Assembly of Dust, Umphrey's Mcgee, Little Feat & The Radiators to name just a few. STUDIO:
The Trapps are entering the recording studio in June & July to begin recording their 3rd album. No working title as of yet, but be sure to keep a close eye on our facebook & home-page, as we plan on utilizing YOU, our friends & fans, to help us make this next album.

RACE FOR A CAUSE:
As many of you know, Sean's father, the late Dr. Bruce Schenker passed away a few years ago. As a way to heal & bring the community together, the Schenker family created a 5k Run/Walk in his honor. This year, the 3rd Annual Bruce Schenker Memorial 5k Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, June 12th at 9:30 PM @ The Gilded Otter in New Paltz, NY. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Children's Carousel Fund as well as an Art Scholarship for children. Runners, walkers and families are encouraged to participate. The month of April is quiet for the band, but there is plenty going on in the valley of The Trapps...we expect the finished cut of our first-ever music video for our song HOPE some point this month & we are thrilled to be one step closer to releasing it to the world very soon.  We are indebted to Neil Moreno, of Blizzard Productions, for the amazing talent & direction he provided in producing this for us.  Having Neil on our team has been nothing short of a blessing.

Currently, the band is in the studio working and arranging songs for their untitled 3rd album release.  Hard to believe that The Trapps are turning the corner on nearly 9 years together so there is much to look forward to! Be sure to check the website often & be on the lookout for a major concert announcement near the middle of this month - we're keeping it a secret until mid-April when the final festival line-up is in effect!

In the meantime, here's a couple GREAT shows to mark down that we have coming up in May:

Sunday, May 2nd - The New Paltz Regatta, downtown New Paltz - 1PM-4PM. The Trapps will perform all day long while local residents float on their self-made rafts down the Walkill!

Saturday, May 15th - Whistling Willies, Cold Spring, NY - 8:00PM-11:00PM. The Trapps finally return to Cold Spring to tear the roof off the place again!

The Trapps will be hitting the airwaves this week in support of their upcoming hometown show at the High Falls Cafe Saturday, March 20th at 8:30PM. Tune in your radio dials or stream 'em live. We will also be shooting our first music video this week in NYC. The band will be shooting at Smash Studios in Mid-town Manhattan. The video will be for the song "HOPE" off of the critically acclaimed new release Cheap Seats. The band is also in the process of pre-production for, what will be, our 3rd album. No official set release date yet, but there are a whole bunch of new songs & ideas being fleshed out in the recording studio on a weekely basis.

Flying High with The Trapps

• The Trapps are thrilled to announce that their song "Lullaby" off of Cheap Seats is going to be featured on ALL International Flights on Lufthansa Airlines In-Flight Music Series starting in March and lasting for 3 months. The song will be played thousands of times for travelers using this airline. The Trapps are one of only a few independent artists to have been afforded this amazing opportunity.  Who knew when Sean wrote the song about his future daughter that it would be joining so many folks traveling the world!

Elmore Magazine

• The Trapps would like to extend a very heartfelt "Thank you" to our good friend Kay Cordtz who wrote a terrific review for the band in this months (March) Elmore Magazine. Elmore Magazine is a national music publication based out of NYC & The Trapps new CD Cheap Seats is not only reviewed in this current issue, but they share the FRONT COVER with Alice Cooper!  The issue is not yet available online, but we'll keep you posted on when it pops up.

Music Video

• The band is excited to announce that they will be shooting their first, official music video on Friday, March 19th in NYC at Smash Studios.  Our friend Neil, at Blizzard Productions, is developing the video & shoot speifics for the song HOPE. We hope to have a version of it up on our site by April. We'll keep you posted!

The Trapps just got a message from our radio promoter. Not only did Cheap Seats crack the Top 200 Americana Artists last week on the Americana Music Association Charts (Number 170)...but, we just found out that we cracked the TOP 50 ROOTS ROCK ARTISTS on the Roots Music Report Radio Charts (Number 41).

We have been getting a terrific response from our new CD "Cheap Seats" with radio stations, program directors and dj's across the country (even globally in Belgium & The Netherlands)...our new CD has been added on such a wealth of stations that it garnered us the Top 5 Most Added Americana Artists to the Americana Music Association Charts...take a look at the artists we are keeping good company with (Norah Jones, Jay Farrar of Son Volt, Mark Knopfler), not to mention the record labels these artists have behind them, while we do this entirely ourselves...without a major label!
